How it works
Two slots, both motorised. The coarse one has silicon carbide wheels that reset an edge which has gone properly blunt or picked up small chips. The fine one polishes it smooth again. You hold the knife upright, draw it through from heel to tip, and repeat a few times — the wheels do the work, so there is no pressure to judge and no angle to hold.

What it will and will not do
It is made for straight-edged kitchen knives. The angle is set by the slots, which is the point: it is fast and it is repeatable. It also means you do not get to choose the angle yourself, so if you sharpen by hand and want control over the bevel, this is not the tool for you — and we would rather say so here than have you find out at home. It will not sharpen serrated blades or ceramic knives.
